Red Kill Mountain (RKM) is a land management and direct-to-consumer agriculture business based in the western Catskill Mountain region of New York. We are a small team of professionals working to preserve wild landscapes and homestead farmers in upstate New York.


RKM has 3 intern positions open for June-July of 2019.  Interns will have the opportunity to own projects from start-to-finish, work and live outdoors, and have a real impact on the environment and local family businesses.  If you are a self-motivated individual with a respect for mother nature and desire to do good, this internship is for you!

Biodiverse Design intern

RKM manages several hundred acres of wild forestry. The biodiverse design intern is responsible for studying and reporting on characteristics and features of the land. Projects may include classification of natural forage and expansion of permacultural agriculture.


The ideal candidate is a biology major with an interest in ecology and environmental sustainability. Freshman-Junior applications are accepted.


Room and board are included. This position is afforded a budget of up to $3000 for project work.

Business Management intern

Our team is comprised of savvy business men and women with generations of experience. This position will support our business operations in land and asset management, brand strategy, and market analytics.


The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial business-degree candidate with a demonstrated interest in environmental welfare. Freshman-Junior applications are accepted.


Room and board are included. This position may include client-facing projects.

Tech and Engineering intern

RKM is developing an ecommerce platform and on-site infrastructure. Projects could include front-end web development, hydro-electricity engineering, habitat construction, etc. This position will manage and execute a relevant project from start to finish.


The ideal candidate is an engineering major with interest in engineering, computer science, off-grid technology, or sustainability. Freshman-Junior applications are accepted.


Room and board are included. This position is afforded a budget of up to $3000 for project work.
